I recently had my 1st session with my new life coach (I am so lucky!) and she started by asking a bunch of questions about me, to get to know how I tick. Questions like:
Since you became a parent (or a busy person AKA Grown Up), how often have you taken stock of your Self? How well do you know yourself? Are you operating by the same outmoded assumptions about yourself 10 years ago?
As a mom, I can safely say it's taken a few years to re-find my "identity" and what that means now. Some of the outward things are different - I don't have time to make it into a pole dancing studio, and that used to be my lifeblood. I don't spend lazy weekends reading 10 books.
But more of the changes are inward. I don't think I know what's best for everyone, anymore. That opens me up to more expansive internally, and broadens my perspective basically to infinity.
As moms, busy women, dads... anyone who has lived, basically, maybe the 1st step to tackling the vague sense of "Is this really all there is?" is to get to know ourselves again... and therefore, what the infinite possibilities are before us.
